Every couple months, one of us will wonder aloud if anyone’s thought of a use for dog poop. We pick up pounds of it every day; it would be nice if it could be put to use.
Well, now there is! According to the Desert Sun, the Denver Zoo has retrofitted a 3-wheeled Thai taxi cab known as a tuk-tuk to run on animal waste. The pelletized waste is heated on board until it releases a combustible gas, which is burned in a generator that charges the electric vehicle’s batteries.
Of course, this is million-dollar technology. Can we fit that in the Palm Desert City budget for next year?
